About Us

Richard J. Anderson II, Esq.

Richard Anderson is an experienced litigation attorney who has successfully defended and prosecuted disputed claims at stages from inception through appellate review. Drawing on years of experience working at some of Florida's most prestigious law firms and under the direction of its most accomplished attorneys, Richard built a strong base allowing for the development of poignant legal and factual arguments at all stages of a litigated matter.

Richard has a diverse background that profoundly impacts his approach at all stages of representation. As a young man, he spent over a half-decade working in the service industry as a server and bartender. It was there that he learned the importance of client communication and thoughtful service. Hanging up his non-slip shoes for steel toe boots, Richard then spent four years working in the Bakken Shale oilfield in North Dakota and the Niobara oilfield in Colorado as a carpenter and oilfield hand. It was there that he cemented his belief in the importance of hard work.

Richard takes tremendous pride in his incorporation of all these lessons he has learned over time, combining the top-tier legal experience he has garnered in the practice of law with his practical experience traveling the country to find economic opportunity, working in the service industry, and working in the blue-collar trades. It is by this combination that, as a whole, Anderson Trial Law developed its core ethos. It is not enough to simply provide superior legal services; rather, those superior legal services must be combined with careful attention to client needs and goals, prompt communication, and involvement of all stakeholders at all stages of any litigated dispute.

Outside of the practice of law, Richard takes great pride in community involvement. As a law student at the University of Florida Levin College of Law, he founded, coordinated, and enacted its first two Gator Law Adoption Days, where over fifty children were adopted into their forever families in just two days, providing legal formality to the strong and enduring relationships the children had already developed with their adoptive families. Presently, Richard continues to volunteer with at-risk youth in the dependency and delinquency systems, offering support as an Attorney Ad Litem and a mentor for young men who have incredible untapped potential just waiting for positive role modeling and direction.

Richard is the husband to a beautiful and talented wife and the father to two adorable and happy children. He is an active member of his Church, St. Mark the Evangelist, and a member of the Knights of Columbus. Additionally, he is a member of the Hillsborough County Bar Association and a member of American MENSA. When not working, his time is spent with his growing family at the Florida Aquarium, (what was formerly) Lowry Park Zoo, or Busch Gardens.

Richard is a Tampa homer, and is a life-long fan of the Buccaneers, Rays, Lightning, and his alma mater, the Florida Gators. In addition to watching Tampa Bay sports on television and in the arena with his children, Richard was a college baseball pitcher and is currently a mediocre (but improving) golfer.
